Objecthood is defined apart from context. I want to visually understand what I am instinctively drawn to through recreating it. Through this struggle, I get closer to knowing who or what something is, and what that means.
I used to be solely a portrait artist, and in some ways I still am, but now I see people differently. I see them in objects or clothing or even myself. I think I see people for who they used to be, before all of this went so south… I see them bearing an image of all those attributes that we so desperately want.
